adj fuel pressure without gauge

I was reading where someone said fuel pressure gauges are inaccurate and that they arent really necesary to tune fuel pressure. How does this work? I ordered the calibration kit for my carb but would like to make sure I dont have too much fuel pressure first

I'm not sure how to do it on an Edelbrock, but for an Hitachi with a site glass, you adjust it untill the fuel level is in the middle. I suppose a Nikki is the same. Holleys have some sort of screw that can be removed or adjusted or something, sittin gon the float bowl cover(s).

What part of ohio are you in? Jegs sells fuel pressure gauges for $20, either 15psi, 30psi, or 60psi. Works great on mine and seems to be very accurate.
