This really isnt my car, its my brothers but......
He starts it and it runs great.........then when he puts it into gear it dies.....any ideas on what it could be please let me know.

sounds like the clutch might not be engaging enough--- could just need adjusting.

Ah, we posted at the same time. Just look for cracked rubber hoses. Maybe the modulator is acting up?

hmmmm. my bros escort did that back when it was an auto. he never got it fixed though, he did a swap to 5speed.

 

Sometimes its a bad converter. Is it reverse also or just drive?
