I need help... please?
I made a fatal error of not marking the wires for my starter on my 12a. I need info on what goes where.. and here is the car Im working on right now.

Only two wires are needed for the starter. Looking at the starter solenoid, there are two large terminals (one with a wire going to the starter body) and a tab at the top/middle. The main + battery cable connects to the large starter solenid terminal that has nothing on it (not the one with a wire going to the starter body). Then the trigger wire from the ignition slides on the top terminal.

Make sure that you clean up the contacts for the main + battery lead and do the bolt up fairly tight (but not so tight as to strip it), it will make a large difference in the speed it cranks over at :-)
I just had mine out recently, the thread was stripped and the contacts were bad, it had been cranking slow for ages then one day just stopped cranking over at all. Cleaned up the contacts and used a slightly squashed nut to bolt it on tight :-) Cranks over bloody fast now.

Be happy, at least your not in Iraq. One of our best friends from Galesburg is there right now. He isn't lovin life, that is for sure.
Was in the ILNG myself from 91-97, until I took an Active Duty Comission. I already made the long hop to the land of the rising wetbulb. There for 10 months, from March 03 to Oct 03. You don't know hot until you get out there.

Most of the time I was with the 47th CSH in Kuwait. About three months of it was spent up near Mosul. I was attached to an Air Force Hospital up there.
We had it pretty good compared to most of the folks up there. I am hoping things are a little bit more comfortable. We were there early on, before things really got set up.
