Unhappy help... plz.... everything is wrong!

help...
I think I may have dropped one of the thermostat housing bolts into the water pump (yes, i know, i'm a fu(kin moron....)
Any suggestions as to how I find it? We (my dad and I) are trying to get it out with a magnet... or to find it on the ground... chances are it fell on the ground... but I need to know....

Also, If i do take off the water pump, any hints I should know?
And a gasket question... what should I put on the gasket, it says to use RTV sealant in the FSM, so I went and bought Gasket sealant (no RTV on the pkg) and some Gasket Maker (RTV gasket maker) Which one should I be using on this gasket...?

Thanks for your help in advance guys!

Well, the bolt could be one of 3 places:

1) stuck between the water pump impeller and the housing...
2) fallen down inside the lower radiator hose, and into the radiator
3) (VERy small possibility) thrown up (by spinning water pump impeller in situation 1) and into the front housings water passage, and fallen down to tbe bottom of said passages.

1) youll find it when removing the water pump, or it'll fall down into #2
2) it doesnt really matter, you can either fish it out or leave it in there. It shouldnt hurt anything at all. Flow will be pushing against it, and it can obviously never travel up through the radiator so it'll be stuck for eternity.
3)nothing you can do about it unless you can turn your car upside down a few times to try and let it roll back out. Again, it wont hurt anything...it wont impede flow, and it cannot rise up, adn there are no miving parts inside the hollow housings.

On the sealant, I like to use high temp stuff, but any of the blue, black, gray, or orange will work fine.
