That sucks, but at least it's easily accessible. Get to it, and be sure to track it back to where it might have spread along the frame rails (& check the other side, too).

Unfortunately if you're seeing that much now, there's plenty more where that came from. Rear control arm mounts are likely starting to rust as are the rocker panels, rear wheel well arches, front wheel wells among the seem etc. Please look the car over thoroughly.

well this will be an EZ fix
from what I can tell surface rust
alittle deeper but not too bad
surface I hope
this might be a problem
all the way through
more rust
more rust
the other side...
EZ fix
nothing here at first glance
this is my luck...

next week I'll know just how bad it is....

Oh man and here I am worried about a little water leak from the cowl being a rust spot... I couldn't imagine finding all of that!

okay so my buddy came by the homestead and gave his two cents, I will be fixing it... I'll go this weekend and get a grinder and start working at it, before and after pictures of the work will be published. wish me luck as I have never done body work before and have prayed to all known Gods for help. also will be putting a lot of part up for sale as this car is on a long journey to the race track. But first... body work... man, I don't want to do body work.

also could an admin move this post to the build thread, thank you.
