WI common rusted areas on a 1st gen.

im looking to get a 1st gen rx-7, the body & frame/unibody of the car is the
most important thing to me.
the motor, tranz, ect i will worry about later( im still undesided on what im going with).

so with that being said what are some common rusted areas on the body, frame that are rusted, what should i look for?
i have never owned a rx-7, just looking for one that is relativily clean.

Number one issue, hands down, is rust under the storage bins behind the seats. Grab a phillips screw driver and pull the bins out. This will allow you to see what kind of rust there is in that area.

definatly rear wheel well rust would be the biggest issue. secondly will be lower control arm mounts. hatch channel rust, and door bottoms are not far behind.

I've seen rust-through in the roof at and above the rear of the drip lip which holds the black metal trim. FB sunroof models, specifically.

Also, I've seen the subframe rot out at the idler arm attachment point.

To add to what's already stated

Frame right behind the front sway bar mount on the right side
Floor from rear seat attachment to bins
Rockers in front of the rear wheels
Trunk wells behind rear wheels
Rear fender lips
