I cheated, I feel dirty!!

I'm sorry, I'm sorry. My dad felt generous and bought me a gift, a Merkur XR4TI for my up coming wedding.
I have wanted one for a long time. Would you believe it though, I just couldn't get comfortable driving it. It just didn't feel right.
Oddly, as it turns out the car needed too much work! The guy he bought it off agreed to take it back.
I don't feel bad either, weird huh?
My dad does not believe in the Rotary engine though so I'm not so sure he would pop for a 7 if I found one.

Anyway I will not stray again, please forgive me.

By the way I've had 4 first gens but do not currently own a 7.

I would have gladly traded you both of my RX-7s for an X-Ratty.

Oh well, too late

Especially German Fords that have a long and illustrious rally history.

not to sound like Miss Manners or Emile Post, but isn't a used car like that and odd choice for a wedding gift?

Oh, and by the way guys I'd be on that offer of swaping in a heart beat but I'm in Canada. I still have possession of the Merkur. I'll admit it hauls ***! but parts here are dam near impossible to find and it needed a lot of lovin. It hid it's problems well, you could not tell all that was wrong.

British-American Transfer.

The neat thing about Sierras was that Ford not only made the rally bits available to the general public, they wrote DETAILED BOOKS on how to do the modifications yourself.

Then you wonder why Sierras/Escort Cosworths (Sierra floorpan/suspension bits) are so popular for rallying...

That is dam sweet!! If my dad didn't pay $2000.00 for the XR4TI and I could find a good 7 body I would rock on that project.

I'm using a t5 with a spec stage3 clutch. There still is a few more things I want to do to it. But for now it doesn't do to badd.
