they run about 1300-1500 for a 85SE with about 150-160K miles. I've bought two within the last two years and paid 1400 for one and 1300 for the other. Both ran great and other than old age problems I had no problem with them.

I'd say 1300-5000 it all depends on the overall condition of the car and the value to the owner.

Go for the GSL-SE and then when you want more power add the turbo.

I'd say decide before you buy.

I like the looks of the SE over the turbo II so I went with a SE however wasn't near fast enough for me. SO I've spent about 3000 just in parts to turbocharge it and make it faster.

If your just looking for a fast rotary car then go with the Turbo II.

I just bought an SE for $500, but price wasn't my primary consideration. I bought it because my rule for used cars is that there can only be two things wrong with it. In this case it was the badly faded paint and the internal water leak. Later, it turned out to have a starter that failed, but that's nothing. But it did NOT have all these potential problems

-howling wheel bearings
-howling transmission bearings
-clunking rearend
-serious body metal stretches (couple oilcan dents)
-clunking suspension
-bad alignment
-wrecked interior
-bad electrical system

I think the guy was intimidated into selling cheap because of the paint and the water leak (which he had to know about, but which he didn't mention it, tho I immediately found it).

Otherwise it's a good car. I mended the water leak with the good ol' colloidal copper solution and I'll get it re-painted soon.

I also immediately changed the tires (just Dunlop SP2s at $50 each, but good enough), drained all fluids and replaced with Redline goodstuff.

You're lucky in San Jose because you can probably find a good california car (i.e., minus rust). Keep looking in yahoo and craigslist. Maybe you even want to buy mine when I'm finished the refurb? I have too many cars, and I want to buy more!

not too shabby, i love turbo iis for their speed, and handling, but theres something i just love about the first gens too, im setting up my n/a fc for handling right now, too much money for a turbo ii swap, so i wanna make it a auto x car, and kinda wanted a turbo ii next for pure speed over handling, i had a first gen before, and just really miss the feel of them though, its a hard decision =/ its gunna be a while before i finish my fc though, so ive got time to think about it
