Most people use a 1 oz 2 stroke oil : 1 gallon gas ratio when running a full premix (no OMP).

IMHO use 2 stroke oil!

I personally would not use MMO as my only source of rotor seal lubrication. If you still have an OMP and use MMO then fine--or use MMO and 2 stroke oil then fine. But MMO by itself is not sufficient lubrication alone. Of course, this is just my opinion and we all have one. If you want to only use MMO, you'll hear no argument from me. Read up and search the subject to form your own opinion.

And before anyone says MMO works great, I got XXX miles on my car, just remember how many cars are out there with clogged oil injectors or broken OMP oil lines--and they keep going with NO lubrication other than gas.

I use 1 oz 2 stroke oil per gallon with no OMP--and I KNOW the oil is getting into the rotor seals. I haven't had any problems and have gone about 12,000 miles on this rebuild.

HTH,

Scott

I mix 1oz to one gallon. any richer and every one behind you knows it.

the hard part is putting in the correct amount first, what I do is run 100 miles and do 10oz to the 10 gallons, If this time it was to rich I cut it a little bit next time. say 8oz to the 10 gallons.

16 oz per fill up.half a quart per full tank is the general consensous. I did use one quart per fill up for a few months, but it got expensive. And I couldn't tell a difference between 1/2 and 1 quart.

why do you need to premix? are you removing the omp or just want the xtra protection? i have my omp tested and in proper order and premix mmo 1/2 oz to the gallon.

This is a total newb question but someone should explain why you use premix and what it is. I have never put anything in my gas tank except gasoline, I had no idea you are spose to add anything to your gas. I am fully confused now.
What are these abreviations you all were using up top?

mmo? = marvel mystery oil
good ****.
rotaries are oil injected to lubricate the rotors, i premix a little just for added lubrication. omp= oil metering pump. thing on the front side of your motor below the air pump. factory oil injecting unit with lines to the carb.

Oil is being injected but it is engine oil, not designed to burn off. two stroke is made to burn and does not leave the deposits like regular oil wood. Plus you get the cool smell and every one looks at you funny trying to figure out what you are doing.

This topic has been covered many, many times.

For all the noobs, here's a post over in the second gen forum:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...p+premix+write

Everything pretty much applies to 1st gen cars except the part about the S5 electronic OMP.

Read this thread and you will know all you need to know and then some.

Scott

By the way its actually a MOP. Metering Oil Pump. If you go to mazda and ask for a OMP, or if you ask for valve springs they'll look at you funny. .
