I'll be 45 on Wednesday next. All the guys in my family (including me) have always had "toys" - some very expensive. Wife doesn't give me any problem except if a 7 activity interferes with our pleasure boating. Then I'm in deep doo doo.
One thing that helps a lot is that we keep our money separate, and have one account of pooled money for mortage, bills etc. That way if I want to spend on something (or if she does), there is no argument.
She doesn't get the "car thing". To her, if it has 4 wheels and goes, that's all that matters. Mind you since we got the Explorer, she has developed an attachment to it I haven't seen with other vehicles we've had. Must be a testoterone thing! lol.

I'm 33, my GF is 42, and she loves both Sebeys. Although now that I'm talking about nitrous and a turbo, she's anxious to get it on the road so she "can pass all the ********* that drive too goddamn slow around here."
Oh yeah, and I'm on RX-7 numbers 3 and 4.

I'm 41, and since I run off the now ex-wife prior to buying my car, I catch no flak at all. Except when "Her" children tell her how much cooler I am, than her.
Just washed and waxed it today......
The truck in the background used to be my daily driver, I think it has a dead battery, from sitting too long......................

I had her read these posts guys, she said and I quote "You made me look like a shrew" I didn't mean for that to be the case, she is a wonderful woman but still doesn't get the 7 addiction....
But it's spring and the DD is in good shape for a fun season, maybe I'll convert her this year.

Well, there is one guy here older than me, but not by much. There are guys here with faster RX-7s, but not by much. There may even be someone here who has owned more rotaries than me, but not by much. But I don't know if anyone here has built more custom Mazda rotary powered cars than I have. Show me some pictures (I am not into the plastic - show me the ones that required some welding!).
I bet I am the only one here who got his first drivers license on Guam (1954 - you do the math)

Old when you own a RX7 you dont get old especially if you own a FB if you were old you couldnt keep up to keeping the FB running right lol Im 40 dont feel it and my previous girlfriend said i only have the RX cause it's a chick magnet lol she just doesnt get it chicks in NYC arent into rotaries they're into Lexus & fancy lil noisy Honda Civic's & Eclipses and all that new junk.RX7 is a legacy keeping the Wankel dream alive the lil motor that overpowers most. The feel of a car that when you drive it feels like a glove i love speeding in Parkways with alot of curves cause i just love the feel of the car when she's polished the way the sun glissens on the hood the sound of a motor that just wont quit and wants to be pushed harder. The looks that people give me. what kinda car is that is it a 05 or 06? The design that just seems never to look outdated atleast it doesnt look outdated to me well let me stop and end this cause i can go on & on i love my LIL FB. Heres what she looks like now mind you she's Automatic now but she still packs a punch may not do burn outs but that tranny feels good on the highways like it never ends it goes faster each time i step on that gas But the 13B is going to be dropped in soon

Important point in the seemingly ubiquitous wives/girlfriends vs. RX-7s battle: They don't make RX-7s any more. New women are available every day.
My wife thinks of my car as a rival. I don't.

Help me out guys, if you were born in '52 and you haven't had a birthday yet this year, does that make you 52?
Cathy likes the 7's because they keep me from dring the MP5, which has become "her car".

I'm 46 and have had my 80 GS since 83. Bought it used in Kansas City as my first car out of college.
My wife gets it, she even bought the Dellorto carb and Rotary Engneering exhaust for me one birthday. She likes to ride in it, but if I make a uturn too fast she faints ( literally, her eyes roll back in her head and she passes out for a second ). Its really needs paint and minor body work but the interior is mint and I try to keep it that way.

I'll be 48 in July. I purchased my first and only 7 2-1/2 years ago. I've always had a passion for sports cars and this Rx-7 never fails to amaze me. I'll never forget the day I first seen her sitting at a used car dealership on the way to work one day. The 2nd day I stopped to look at it and noticed the GSL-SE emblem. I didn't know what that stood for back then. I got to work and searched the internet and found out the differences. Hmmm bigger engine, fuel injected, larger wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes. Ahhh..a premium car. Anyways, 3rd day it was mine!

69. Got the Misty Blue 83 in 82, still drive it, still feels tight, and the paint looks very good. Gotta get it de-dinged this year. Couldn't pass up the 85GSL with 49k for $1700 3 years ago, and the SE was too cheap to snub (runs great, now, will look great in a couple months).
When I went looking for a truck i just HAD to get a REPU and found a good one with a new 13B for $1100. Runs good, looks good but needs door crease removal where someone sideswiped it. Some say the REPU needs a new muffler, but not me.
Looking for a good Cosmo to use as my sedan. Will probably try to place 2 7s at that time to keep my stable from being ridiculously oversized.
