I'll be 44 in July. My current wife, a huge improvement over the first model, bought my 83 GSL for my birthday a few years ago. She gets her toys, I get mine. Works well.

I'm 39 and I suppose I meet the requirements as an old guy in comparison to a lot of the young-un's on this forum. I just bought a 49,000 mile bone stock 84 SE last month, and am enjoying every minute of it. I had a yellow 79 between the ages of 18 & 21 way back in 1985-88. I always wanted another 1st gen and knew it had to be an SE. The car is older and I'm definitely older, but the fun remains the same!

I'm 50 and with the rx-7, chicks dig me because the 23 year old car runs great so I'm must be a great mechanic. Co-workers fear me because the 23 year old car is inexpensive so I must spend all my money on drugs.

I will be 50 in June. Bought my first RX (SA) brand new in 1980. It still sitting in my garage. It looks as good as the day I bought it. I now have an 85 GSL-SE, an 86, 88 vert, and my brand new Vintage Red FD. Sold a GSL-SE a year ago.
The wife puts up with it. There are far worse habits to have in this world.
She hate the first and second gens, but loves the FD.

Get rid of her!! Just kidding...her tastes are a little off, but if she lets you have rotaries, she must be ok!

First 7 I owned was about 10 years ago and it was a Silver GSL-SE that I purchased on a whim. Have loved the 7 ever since. I will own a 7 till I can't drive any more.... LOL

That's what we all need - a Courtney Hansen of our own!

For those of you who don't know who she is - former co-host of Overhaulin, and now on SpikeTV Powerblock.

WOW. Never thought I'd feel this young in a thread, lol. I'll be 38 this summer but have been lucky enough to be driving 7s since their inception. Got an FB, an FC, and might even get me one of them new-fangled FDs someday!

I feel/think/act the same way I did 20 years ago. I guess I'm just an old teenager......
Hell, I graduated from high school before my car was built, and I wanted one back then.............

No thanks. Have you noticed that she always wears long sleeves? Being an old fart, I'm not into the tatoo thing, and she has tatoos all the way up and down her arms...yuck.

Well it's like a lot of other things, you either "get it" or you don't.

I personally like the time a friend's wife was out of town with family for a couple weeks. During that time an incredible Series 1 came up on eBay in Michigan. Guess who won? The plan was to drive up there, pick up the car, then pick up the wife on the way back home. Her reaction was priceless... "I can't leave you alone for two weeks without you buying a car"

I just worry about the future. RX-3s and such are already rare and hideously expensive, the RX-7s are not far from the same predicament. What will we be enjoying in 10-20-30 years? The current crop of cars is horribly uninspiring.
