How do I get the dash pannel off to the left and below the steering colume? I got all the screws out but the stupid slider that controls the vent is holding in on. how can I get that off with out bracking it? the car is an '85.

dont go pulling on it you will break ****,
take off the two round *****,
use plyers if you have to.,
there are two nuts behind them,
also you need to remove your ash tray,
there is a release mech on the top,
now there are two screws behind it,
ok thats it,
be carefulll when pulling it out because there will be two sets of wires with bulbs attached to them where the round ***** came off

either i am really lucky i didn't have a head-on driving on the QEW, or our nothern neighbors drive on the same side as us yanks. sorry kilr, it was too tempting to resist.
the slider arm kinda looks like this:
_________
_____/\__]
try prying at the bottom and wiggling it with pliers until it comes loose. it doesn't come off easy, but i've only broken one.
