hahah, flows like poop... Thats a 1st for me. lol

Looks like a lot of the custom manifolds you see made for turbo engines.

well theres no smooth transitions, flow/velocity/control to aid flow. All I see is turbulence. It looks like early 1900's engineering.

i could see that manifold sucking much *** on a NA motor, however, on a turbo motor, with positive manifold pressure, it seems that it may be a very effective, and easy design. Thats just my guess though, i know little to nothing about manifold design.

however, it does look a little bit like the manifolds for Hondas that you see for sale every once in a while... i saw one in the summit racing import catalog that was almost identical (except the TB was on the side, not the front)... and of course that one was cast, and not made out of pipe and tubing.

Well I wont pretend to know **** about forced induction cause I dont. But subsonic aerodynamics would still apply IMHO. Just cause its blown doesnt change the laws of physics. Just my $0.02

It should flow fantastic. I have a Mustang TB on a custom upper manifold. Works like a champ. You really do need a standalone ecu to take advantage of it though.

yes, i agree that physics still applies, but i think on an NA motor, the intake really needs to be tuned and efficent, but on a boosted motor, the design is slightly less critical as you're jamming the air/fuel charge down it's throat.... so even though it's still inefficent, its a cheap, easy manifold that's simple and may even work well...

*shrug*

anyone that's real knowledgeable on this stuff wanna help out?

I agree that the simple/cheap is cool. And the tubes should be fine. I'd just like to see better flow transitions from the TB into the chamber and from the chamber into the runners. And its probably less critical but still would be an inprovement I would think.

I got a custom intake manifold made and it increased my hp #'s by 60 @ the wheels! I lost 15 foot pounds of torque though
dont ask how much it cost

I'm still thinking CF or Fiberglass intake sounds like something to try

Hey 680RWHP, Robert... I'm figuring that was for a turbocharged car? But how did you come up with measurements for that design? Just arbitrary lengths and diameters to allow for easy fitment in the engine bay? Or was there more desing involved?
