How do you get a couple of wires through the rubber thingy in the firewall?
I tryed janking the rubber piece from the engine side, but it won't come out. This is the big rubber thing of the wiring harness on the left side of the car.
I want to put some wires(4) from the engine side to the interior. I thought through the big rubber thingy would be best.
Do you need to pul the rubber part or can you just squees the extra wires through the rubber thing?
How do you do it?

i've done it on a lot of cars for apm wires. the easiest way is to graba wire coat hanger or other stiff wire. make it straight with a little u bend at the end. take your wires and make a little u at the end of them. hook the 2 together and wrap in eletrical tape. putthe coat hanger threw then go to the inside of the car and pull, HARD. it's gona be a tight fit b/c remember the job of the fire wall, to stop fires from reaching the cabbin and keep the heat out. so the rubber piece will be big and hard to fit things in. but thats the easiest way. you won't get the peice removed with out cutting at it or the fire wall.

After you poke the hole in it. Use either coathanger or stiff single conductor (like 12 Ga house wire), poke the stiff wire thru and use electrical tape to connect the stiff wire to your new wire end-to-end. Run the tape longways along both wires, not around it like you would for insulation. It will usuall pull thru. For big wires like battery cables use several layers of tape.
I have done this several times. A pro would probable add a slim steel cable to keep the tape from stretching.

actually I've found its quite easy if your not too concerned about how it looks to just cut the rubber thingy, run your wires through it and then seal it back up with electrical tape.
