Do you not have a FPR at all or are you using a stock one?

I remember when we were diagnosing boost problems on my cousins 3rd gen...One of the tests we read online to see if the first turbo was working, was to just stomp on the gas from an idle and not let it go over like 5K or something and you should get 3 PSI of boost...Or something like that .

FD turbos are tiny. TII turbine wheels are different. To even be getting 1 psi from revving it up is pretty good.

BTW-Is it an Autometer gauge?

Thanks anthony thats exactly what I wanted to hear... I figured I was right, when its unloaded it wont show hardly any boost. I know Bryan knows what hes doing, his craftmanship shows to people like me that looks for details, such as all the lock washers turned the same way, same bolts in all the places. The quality of work was great...

Yeah its a 30-30 Ultralight Autometer guage

Mine (and every other one I've seen) sits just outside the box, into vacuum at rest. You may actually be getting a little bit more than 1 psi.

Never had a vacuum/boost guage before.. Do all forced induction motors, when you rev up vacuum goes down and then as it returns to idle goes to 0 and then slams back down to about 20 vac? I remember when I had a vacuum guage on my 12A. Vacuum seemed to get stronger when you reved it and it never went to zero, thats pretty cool. Means its trying to boost a little?

vacuum should always be present when the engine is turning and the throttle is closed.

What I mean is on my 12A it would be like 15 or so vac at idle, rev it would never reach 0...

Are you using an Ultra-lite gauge or a Carbon Fiber gauge? Those are the "Pro-Comp" series, and are considerably better than the Phantom or "Sport-Comp" series.

I havent heard any complaints about the Ultra-Lite Series.

I had a silver Pro-Comp Ultra Lite. It did the same thing as my Sport Comp and the Phantoms I've seen. I've noticed it on a Celica All-Trac, my TII, both my friends' TIIs, an FD, and a MKIII Supra.

Can atmospheric pressure mess with them? Maybe its the elveation or something

Cool! What order?

I have in the Dual "A" Pillar:

Boost <- My favorite
Fuel Pressure (electric)

Clock Location:

Air - Lean / Rich

Under Radio: (Easily Duplicated with Manntis' Surround)

EGT
Water Temp
Oil Pres (electric)

I am still unsure of where I am putting the J&S Knock Sensor Display. Maybe over the steering column? (It has a Rich/Lean Indicator as well.)

I got the AF where the clock is. A pillar will be boost, and then maybe a EGT

All the other guages on the dash work perfcetly even the tach. It all seems very very accurate with the haltech display via the lap top.

I might consider a fuel pressure guage, that would be pretty nice add on...
