HOlY Smoke!

Alrighty gentlemen (and ladies???) Got a question for you all. I went to start my car after it has been sitting for a couple weeks while I was doing some interior cleanup, and first off, it really didn't want to start. It eventually did with lots of cranking. This is the first time it's even been remotely difficult to start in the year and a half I had it. Also, when it did start I got about a city block full of whiteish smoke out the back and a tremendous smell of gasoline. IT drove just like it normally did one the smoke cleared after a minute or so, but geez.... This is a new one for my -SE.

Helpful hints?

Did it flood? Might explain the white smoke and fuel smell. Sometime the GSL-SE will do that for no apparent reason?
Mine use to flood one in blue moon, but I have long since installed a cut of switch to the fuel pump. No more getting out of the car and under the hood for me

It kinda acted like it was flooded.. That was my first thought, but after sitting? The only times I've ever had it flood before was after a real short driv (like 2 blocks) when it was cold out. would it do that after sitting for awhile?

Mine has done it before after sitting for a while. The usual cause for flooding is a glitch in the computer on shutdown/startup, I believe.

i seem to remember hearing of an ecu glitch where the injectors don't shut down immediately and flood the engine.

My '85 GSL does the same thing if I leave it for a week it fires up right away but it smokes like a bastard but if I start it every couple of days it doesn't smoke hadly at all.
I have the theory that there may be some over oiling going on and after a few days the gas has evaporated leaving extra oil in the rotors to be burned off when you go and start it.(just a theory though)
