Question Holley Pro-jection setup ?

Has anybody tried the Holley Pro-jection setup ? It would seem to operate with the ease of a carb, BUT without all the electronice, sensors, and mapping in its "basic no-frills mode". Would or does this work on a rotary ( 12A or 13 B ) ?

Just curious.

the guy i bought my gsl from gave me the same setup with my car, he had it on at one time and said he really liked it. but he seemed to have a nack for carbys so he went back to his holley. so i have some parts laying around for it if you need some

I was thinking about going that route with a blow through. I am going to get all the turbo stuff fabbed up first since the Holley on it nows runs decently.

I talked with Holley technical and they say it can be sized right for the application. From the lack of sensors and electronics standpoint it will be just as dumb as a carb but with FI advantages. I would like to hear that somebody has done this and what were the results. It seems to be beautifully simple !?! It should be easy ( or at least no more difficult ) to add forced induction to ( including nitrous ).

Anybody out there ? Even some educated guess speculation would be appreciated.

rob81gsl, if you still have the throttle body for that pro-jection setup I might be interseted in it.....I've been thinking about doing a injection on my bridge ported 12A and that's the only thing that's holding me up.

IIRC there was a write up somewhere (rotaryshack maybe) covering throttle body injection (which is what the holley setup is) on a 12a or 13b. I'll root through my links and see if I can find it.

if you're interested just pm me and let me know. i don't really have any use for it right now so if it'll help you out just let me know. i'll prolly let it go cheap just to get it out of my parts pile

doesn't it still need an ecu, how else would it work? still would need sensors to provide fuel accurately.

the ECU isn't an issue I can either use a holley ECU or a megasquirt to run the throttle body and if I go with the megasquirt I'll be using mostly the sensors for that. Right now the hardest thing is finding a suitable throttle body for the holley intake.

It's my understanding that you can set it up without an ECU in a "closed loop" system with just an O2 sensor. You, know, dumb from a feedback standpoint ... like a carburator. Maybe a throttle position sensor, too. Hell, I don't know for sure or I wouldn't be asking

any fuel injection needs some type of control wether it be a mechanical control or electrical so in this case some type of ECU will be needed

BTW sorry I didn't mean to hijack the thread
