Help!!! Ignitors are a bitch...

I need working ignitors quick. Last week my leading plugs wouldn't fire at all. So I had to switch plug wires around to make the leading plugs fire...and today I put in a spare ignitor to fix the problem and now I don't get any spark at all. And of course I ended up flooding my engine cuz I am impatient...i know how to fix that so no worries there. I just need to get spark to my plugs!!! This is my only car and I need it to get to work otherwise I lose my job.

The plug wires are about a year old or so I guess. With maybe about 7000 miles on them or so. Spark plugs are maybe 4 months old. Cap and rotor are the same age as the wires, but they appear to look fine when I took them out to look at them.

Anyway, any help is appreciated. I am willing to buy any working ignitors from anyone. Also, how do you test to see if they are working?

Thanks in advance.

I've got a few extras. $25 each + shipping. Or if you're going to the Rotary Revolution I could just meet you there so you dont pay for shipping.

Nah, won't be going there. Wish I could, but my car is beat up looking from people hitting my car, I'd feel embarrassed just to show up there in it.

So yeah, I'll take two of them then. Guess I'l PM ya now...

You should see my car. The paint on the hood is trash, it boiled because the previous owner let the car overheat. The bumper above the exhaust is crispy from all the flames. It's been keyed in a couple places. 2 pieces of the side moulding have fallen off. But it'll run 13's all day, should be able to get it into the 12's at the revolution

hahaha...that's fine if my car ran 13s or maybe if it could even run 20s I'd bring it. My car is just beat up and slow as hell. I still love it though, fun to drive...but it is slow and loud and just blah.

Please do not let the outer skin of your car turn you away from this event. My vert needs a new driver's fender, the top has some rips in it, etc.. etc... and I run the event.

Who cares what you car looks like. If you like your car, then its all good. I'll brag about my car all day long, about how good I think it looks and performs (well, don't know how it performs yet). The paint isn't too bad, but the interior has some things wrong with it (mostly in the hatch area) that are soon to be solved. But I would drive it as is just because I would love to drive it. But take your car anyway. It may not get the respect of some of the better looking cars, but at least it shows you like you 7.

Do you have two dead ones? I need two dead J-109 ignitors so I can gut them and connect the pins from S&G over to B&C to use with DLIDFIS. Free would be great.

Hey, uh..by the way. I don't mean to ask such a stupid question. But what one is the trailing ignitor and what is the leading ignitor?

Leading faces the front of the car - trailing is wedged in next to the alternator.

Cool...

Well, I got some working used ignitors...new cap and rotor and new NGK plugwires from sparkplugs.com coming soon. Hopefully that'll be the last of my problems for a while.
