HEEELLLLPPPP!! I am desprite!

Ok here is the thing. I am installing a deck into a 81 rx7 and I have trimmed the dash to fit the cage, but it looks like there is a bracket that sticks down on the top corners behind the radio opening. I just dont know about the screws that hold the bracket in place that are in the way.
I wish I had a pic! I hope that someone out there has had to deal with this!!
Any other ideas for this install are more than welcome!
Thanks,
Josh

Are putting it in the top, or the bottom. Also, PM Mike-P-28. He's the pro-installer here.

If I remember correctly from my '81 and '83 - it has to be trimmed inside to fit a regular DIN Sized radio.

Yep, there are mounting points on each side for the dash trim. You need to grind these down, a fair bit to fit a DIN sized deck in there. That's why I went with the bottom location for my stereo (cause I'm a lazy SOB).

That doesn't mean you can't put it there, in fact it probably is better in the top because you'll have better access to it.

Good luck.
