headlight issues no brights and timing help
Ok so I've searched, I've also been looking on my own for atleast 2 weeks (not consistantly few mins here and there). What I've found was a partially melted conector and alot of soot on the hood. it looks to of come from the coils. its possable the battery also but It lines up with the coils better from the center of the mess. so oviously its been on fire.. poor car... I cant find a fuse for the brights. it could be both brights are burnt out, but both lows work fine?? most likely not, unless they drove around with nothing but brights. I don't think its the lights themselfs. expessally with the fire. but the wires look new just the connecters are a bit melted, Is there a seperate fusable link for brights?
Also. I'm a little stumped on timing adjustments off the dizzy. I've been into late model mitubishi's eclipses and lancers. theres no distrubuters. so I don't understand timing with a dizzy. I have had both of my last two cars torn apart and managed to put it back together, So I know my way arround cars but I need a little direction. I don't understand shop manual lingo so lameas terms and pictures would help

Ok Ignore the timing question. I figured it out. don't I feel dumb now
I was thinking it was hold down nut. thats what it was.
But please help with the headlight issues. I took apart the ignition cover. and noticed some lose wires I cant find where they go I guess I'll go out in the rain and take a pic. this could be it.
also my stearing wheel moves back and fourth not left to right but forward backward Its kind of annoying any ideas on what this is, and can I swap an fc stearing shaft in with ease or is it a pain in the ***?

Take a picture of the burned area under the hood. The fusible links are in that area.

Do the high beams come on when you pull the lever back toward you? If so, then the thread posted above may help. But I'm afraid that you may have inherited someone else's bad wiring job by the look of those pictures.
If they fubarred the wiring, it shouldn't be all that difficult to figure out what goes where, but you'll need a wiring diagram or a forum member with time on their hands to take some photos for you or at least give some direction. Good luck...
