So I finally have the money to do my turbo for my 85 GSL-SE w/its 13 na 6 port and tomarrow I am going to get parts. so far for a list I have for the engine:
TII UIM LIM and TB
TII exhaust mani
will be getting a stand alone soon
IC and IC piping
already have cone filter
will be doing 3inch exhaust in and out
TII turbo
fuel pump
boost gauge

So am I missing anything? and what muffler have you guys used on your blown 7? thx

The TII intakes don't bolt-up / port match to the 6 port engines.

To get a proper transition from the 4-port TII intake to the 6-port block, build an adapter from 1/2" aluminum plate. A 1/2" exhaust flange will be needed to space out the exhaust side an equal amount for clearance.

And one with the plate mounted to the TII intake. A couple countersunk machine screws were used to fasten and locate it properly on the TII intake, ensuring the port-matching work lines up properly on installation.



For mufflers I highly recommend Magnaflow. I built a complete 2-1/2" system which is plenty for up to 300 hp. I'm using two Magnaflows in series, one under the car roughly where the cat would be located, and another at the rear. Here's the part numbers:
11226 MagnaFlow Muffler 4" x 9" Oval, 14" Body, Center/Offset $59.92
12216 MagnaFlow Muffler 5" x 8" Oval, 14" Center/Center $59.40
Pricing was about a year ago from Ebay seller "zapperformanceexhaust". The result is a very quiet idle, and nice deep tone. The younger crowd might actually prefer something louder, but it's perfect for me.

Don't forget fuel system upgrades. The stock -se pump won't be up to the task.

Rnns you would make a killing if you were to market these things. Drop a few doozen blocks at the machine shop and have them make... would be great for everyone trying to make a mid-boost turbosetup... using the 3mm seals of the -se motor would be a great start.

Yea that would be awsome but I'm eventually going to full S5 setup but yea that would be a great part I would pick one up if it was resonable and I was sticking with the SE.

Sure, it's not a hard job with even basic hand tools. Clamp the plate to an old intake. Drill the bolt pattern using the old intake as a guide. Scribe out the external profile, and cut with a bandsaw, or even hacksaw if you need the exercise. I modified the TII intake ahead of time, and then port-matched the plate to the intake on one side, and plate to an old S4 na block on the other side. 3/8" plate was used, but I would probably go 1/2" next time to give a bit more meat to work with. It was a few hours work spread over a couple evenings.

Someone could have the profile waterjet cut for probably $30 or so in small quantities. Port matching would need to be done afterwards. I'm not interested in the resale market. I'd much rather see others do it themselves!

-Magnaflow makes great mufflers, Id also go with them
-aermotive, or other high volume fuel pump
-RRFPR for EFI applications, one that is boost referenced. (not necessary)

i shouldnt need injectors my 2ndaries are 720s. I will see if my fuel pump will work for now, its not the stock one and said 95psi maybe??? or 9.5? lol i dunno i will see what happens. im suprised noone has chimed in about me using twin cosmo's
