Getting ready to install my dual belt pulley..
Well, it's been a two and a half month wait, but my pulley finally got here. I plan on taking the the belt off the air pump, belt leaving it still attached to the engine, for now. Once I get my damned Honda on the road, I'll go ahead and remove the emissions crap. Anyways, my question is, how did you guys get the nut off the alternator shaft with the original pulley? Impact wrench? Socket with a screwdriver through the fins? I'll probably wind up going with the impact wrench, but I just want to make sure I'm not gonna toast the alternator's innards somehow by doing so.. thanks,

Replace the existing belt too, so both are new-tight not one tight & one stretched, or you could have belt squeal and slippage problems

I've got two new belts.. already made sure of that... not OEM, but they're Gates, so they are good quality...
AdrenalifeRX7, seriously? You've never done it the ghetto way? LOL You slip a screwdriver through the blades on one side and out the other, hold the handle and smack the end of the ratchet hanging off the alt. nut. Done this lots of time when I was at a racetrack and had to swap alternators..

Pulley is installed and all looks good. I ended up using a 7/8 inch socket on an impact wrench seeing as I don't have a 22mm socket. Oh well, worked fine. No more belt screeching when the fan is locked and my volt gauge is actually reading a tad higher. Both big pluses in my book. I was kinda shocked to see that the original pulley was actually two pieces. While I was in there, I put in new battery cables too, in a hope to clear up a starter problem I'm having but it didn't fix it. We'll see what happens now..
