Yo I've seen two different camberplates on this thread, Who ever is making these mounts, I have a small rotary site I'm trying to put together a resource like site where rotary guys can find anything they need when it comes to any kind of document. Any service manuals, tech specs, companies that make performace products in their garage, no major manufactors. It's 1) a good way for you to get exposure 2) It's an easy way for us to find parts, cuz some times it takes longer to get the part then install it. any way hollar at me.

alright guys, sorry for the late update, it has been crazy at my new job, and i took a couple of days to relax a bit... I promised pics, but a slight change in plans... I got my 6" springs, and i put it all in with a set of control arms from iscracing, as well as need tie rod ends... after taking everything apart, everything looks pretty good. I would recommend greasing the silican pads with some litheium grease to get things help make things move easier... but here are some pics I took today. The pics is of 375lb 6" long front springs, with collar 1/2" from the bottom, so i could technically go another 1/2" lower, though I'd run out of travel really quick. The back is of the ground control 175lb rx7 specific springs with three dead coils cut off. Let me know if you have any questions, there is about .3-.5 " of a gap between the tires and the fenders right now...

How is the ride and handling, are you going to corner weight the car?

rides not bad (slightly stiff, but tolerable), and handles great, i have 2 degrees of negative camber right now, and i'm still shopping for 13" wheels and race tires, so with those we should be able to catch some of the miatas in our class.... We do have plans to corner weight it, but first, we are going to relocate the battery, and double check the rules and remove as much weight as we can per the rules/streetability issues. so corner weighting will probably happen sometime in january, also looking for a roll bar which might mess with our balance a tad...

so how much higher can you go with those collars with those, those are 14" panasports right?

i want to be a little higher than that, and im also goin to the turbo 2 front brakes so ill have a little larger rim i think im goin to run 15 if i can find one to clear the brakes.

thanks for the update man. what control arms did you go with, just stock with delrin or poly bushings?

The wheels are 15x7 panas, and i have to double check, but i think i have at least another inch and a half to go, so the car can sit another 1.5-2 inch higher, oh and i got the delrin bushed arms, i'm at a point where i'm pretty much done with the front suspension. I still need a pair of the road race tokicos at some point (or have my koni's revalved) but for now it handles really well... I have a autox this next weekend and i'm borrowing a set of old race tires from a friend, we'll see how it goes...

Tom has been notifying everyone that their parts are ready. He has been having trouble contacting Greg Calvert. I'm not sure who that is but the email Gregscustoms@yahoo.com is bouncing your messages. PM me I have a total for the balance including shipping.

*sigh* Oh well...

Not like I even have my springs yet. Speaking of which, I have no idea what spring rates i want to get. 375/175 sounds pretty stiff for me, but I have no idea since I've never ordered springs before. I have mostly street with occasional autocross in mind. What do you guys think?

What about length? If I run a little bit lower spring rate should I go with 7" springs maybe? Also, what diameter and length are the rear springs? I need to order them too.

7" definately will give you more suspension travel, for your needs I'd go 350 lb X 7" springs, plenty for autocross and nicer for street use, plan on rears about 50% of the fronts. Is your interior stripped if so your rears could be even softer, as there is less weight coming down on the springs..

Yeah, rear is empty, no spare or anything. Front is gutted too, no AC, emissions, cold start, wiper fluid, etc.

Does anybody make a kit to adjust the ride height in the rear? I want to be able to adjust all corner weight, but shimming just plain sucks.

Hey guys, glad this is working out. As for spring rate and lenght, if you are going to run 350 lb, i'd run 6" springs, just because at 6" right now, I have at least another inch of adjustment to go higher, however, if you are going to be running lower then 350, perhaps 7" might be a good solution. As for the rear, again it depends on the springrate, I've been having pretty good experience with the gc fb specific springs, these have dead coils that can be cut to adjust the height, your other solution is to get the rear with the iscracing height adjuster

I am searching around for a suitable set up, be patient and I'll come up with a full coilover which can be easily installed into our cars.

got mine in today, they look nice.
only complaints that i have are
it would have been nice to include a coil over wrench i sent him an email about one.
Mine doesnt have a spring pad for the coil over part, but i can find those, no issue
and i think the spring seat on the coil over is a little on the thin side, but fb don't weigh much so it shouldnt be a problem

over all i think it was money well spent, im waitin for some brake stuff to get here and after it warms up some ill let everyone know how the swap goes, probably a month or so, depending on weather, its cold as ***** here right now.

i got an email from him about the wrench he said you cant reallly use them with the kit because of room. which on one of my other cars with coil overs was the same way its gravy, you really dont need a wrench to move them

I have 1 question that hasn't been made clear in the thread

When you put the sleeve on the spindle assembly, does the kit come with a new strut retaining collar/nut? or do you use the old one?

I'm pretty happy with my set too. I got rubber pads for in between the top spring perches and the springs, but not for the bottom perches... don't I want both?

Also, more for my peace of mind than anything else, what springs did you guys end up with?

Brand?
Length?
Rate?

I got my rex weighed at 2600 lbs, w/ 3/4 tank of gas and no one inside, trying to figure what I ought to go with. Unfortunetly, i don't know the front to rear distribution, as i've removed a fair amount of weight from both ends, then added an iron motor I'm also not looking to necessarily lower the car; stock height is perfect, and the lower perches should be in the middle of their adjustment ranges.

While i'm at it, Anyone have a center of wheel to fender (straight up) measurement on a stock 7?

Thanks guys,

Jesse
