gauging interests, front suspension package
Hey all,
So i went autoxing this last sunday with my 7, and after the first couple of runs, I realized that i am in desparate need for some camber (i've actually known it for quite a while, and have been studying various camber plates). Anyway, there was a fellow 1st gen racer there, and i started looking at his setup and noticed his camber plates. Well, long story short, he's actually a machinist and he made that set himself, he also had a spare set sitting around and i went to his shop to check it out today.
So for $275, here is what he sold me, two camber plates, adjustable spring perch/collar, and turnin spacers. Everything was made in his shop, and done with excellent attention to detail. I'll get some pictures up soon. Anyway, i asked him if he'd be interested in making more and selling it at the same price (because this is a great deal in comparison to other parts out there.) he said that he'd if he can get a mininum order of 5 units. I told him i'd get the word out.
Anyway, I'll get some pictures up, just want to see if the interest is out there.

hum... they might, but you won't have a whole lot of adjustment available because the stock hat and spring are so huge, they will hit the strut tower and you might be able to get like a half a degree or something

I'm still new to coilovers but isn't there a top "hat" that is like a shallow cone that goes on between the top of the spring and the camber plate or does the top of the spring just end at the bottom of the camber plate???
Sorry for the noob question.

Billy's project is just the camber plates, this is a complete suspension mod kit. Plus I think it's good for the community if we have more than one source for mods, people complain that racing beat is the only place to go for so many things for our cars. More options is the way to go, it drives the price down and pushes the quality up . I don't always buy for price, I also buy for quality of materials and workmanship.

? The pics are on page one. I'm going back Thursday to pick up the bearing, so I'll see if he has his car there and take some pics of this stuff on his car. As for rear perches, he didn't sound like a big fan of that, so your best bet is probably go through isc.

hey guys, i went back today to pick up my bearings, but he didn't have his car there so i wasn't able to take any pictures of the units on the car, the spring diameter is 2 1/4 id and 8" long he said he can do it if i have less than 5 people interested, but the price would go up a bit. As for konis, I'm going to try to look under my car and get a measurement (i have koni sports on mine). I'm going to try to give him a call and see how we should work this out. but it sounds like the interest is definitly there. oh yeah, the caster is not adjustable thought the plates although the center point has been shifted back for a degree of extra caster. Did i answer everyone's questions? I'll keep you guys updated.
