Question Gas pedal will not go to the floor

I have a 1984 RX7 (all original, 12A motor) that has been sitting in the garage a while. I'm currently working to get it running again. The gas pedal will not depress to the floor, there is about 2 inches of play and then a hard stop. I replaced the throttle cable and that was not the problem. I think it has something to do with the Nikki carb; it appears the throttle is stuck closed. I'm not sure about the linkage, but haven't been able to see any linkage problems. Any ideas what this could be?

I would appreciate any help with this!

Well that would explain it. You should be able to easily open the throttle by hand (on the carb). If it's stuck, then you're due for a carb service.
