Future Plans

Well I didn't want to side track the other thread but, my original plan is to ship this RX7 with me to the country of Norway, after I finish school here. My parents live over there.

Been checking prices and since the car is over 30 yrs old I can bring it in tax free. Just need to pay the shipping by boat. I checked the prices and wanted to show you guys what price range they are running on that side of the ocean. The exchange rate now is 5.4 Norwegian kroner to 1 dollar. Just divide the numbers listed by 5.4 to get the amount.

It looks like they are asking around $14,629 dollars for the 1979 RX7 with 128,000 kilometers on the clock. Mine has about 48,000 kilometers with the new engine.

Should I consider taking this car and making some money? Think it will cost around $1,000 to ship it from Savannah to Gotenborg, Sweden.

You gotta remember a car is only worth as much as some1 is willing to pay for it. I dont think ne1 in there right mind would pay 15k for a 1st gen rx7,, it would be cheaper for them to buy a ticket to the us buy one and ship it back. Just my .02$.

They tax cars on hp and year etc. I once saw a 1995 Ford Thunderbird 3.8 for about $15,000 yes I know it's crazy.

30 year old cars are tax free and thus a lot of American car clubs are there with older model Camaros, Firebirds etc. Not sure how well a older RX7 would sell. I didn't find any more than listed on the page above.

norway is the most expensive place i have ever been. in norway 2 large pizza's and 4 beers are $166, and that was cheap!

so 30 year old cars are tax free? that explains why i saw so many... i saw more 1960 Cadillacs in 3 days in norway than i've ever seen in my life, and an edsel... no Rx7's though. in america the Rx7 didn't sell well where it snowed, so i imagine there were not that many sold in Norway.
