83 s with 85 gsl rear brake line question

83 s with 85 gsl rear brake line question

If i want to get s/s lines should i get them for the 83 or the 85 or will neither of them work for both front and rear?

The 83 S (Drum Rear) uses a single flex line to the rear axle. The 85 GSL (Disk Rear) uses a different flex line to the rear axle as well as a flex line at each caliper.

right but what im asking is will it work if i get the 83 gsl kit? not the s kit. or should i use some for an 85 gsl. i think they're the same though.

Just making sure you knew that. I don't think there was any change in the front lines from 81 to 85 but I do not know for sure. Someone else will have to chime in.

I know it's a dead thread, but I've got an '84 GSL-SE rear to swap into my '82 disc rear's place. Mazdatrix lists two different part numbers for SS lines: 81-83 and 84-85.

What is the difference? Hardlines still okay? I've got the fronts that will go on as well.
