Does anybody else have problems with fumes. Mine are so potent that they give me a head ache. There is no leak its just when I sit at lights or in traffic it is so potent I can taste it...

Then you must have an exhaust leak somewhere.

You should check the seals on your rear hatch. With any small tears or leaks in the seal material here, when you're driving, it will draw exhaust fumes up from the rear bumper area into the rear of the passenger compartment. These will give you a headache over time, and if you've got a headache that means it's already too late - you're on your way to hypoxia.

You might also want to look around the rear of the car for other sources of leaking into the passenger compartment such as rear taillight seals that are worn or missing, or holes in the bodywork from rust or damage. These will suck the static air from the back of the car right in if one of your front windows or sunroof is open. HTH,

You have an exhaust leak. Fix it before you die from it.

Well, mine's never done it. I've never smelled exhaust in the "cockpit" unless I had the rear hatch open. It's NOT normal and it is/can be deadly.

Fix it

I smell exhaust and sometimes fuel when I am boosting. I replaced the door and hatch seals, and resealed the intake side, but still smell gas.

I had the carb rebuilt, but still smell gas.

I don't know what it is, but my guess is that fuel is unburnt in the exhaust, which causes flames upon backfire

my car was FULL of white smoke when i first got her started from the liters of oil pored down the carb.

but yeah back to the point, mine used to be really fumey and after 1/2 hour of driving i did feel light headed but since i played around with the mixture it seemed to have miled out.

or maybe im just used to it now
