I have (what I believe to be) a 2nd gen FMOC ready to install. MY question refers to the actual cooling ability/power as the inlet and outlet are both on the same side of the cooler rather than WHAT WOULD LOOK LIKE directing oil through the cooler and out the bottom on the other side, thus forcing the oil through channels in the middle. Someone enlighten me on how these work i guess....

The inlet outlet end tank is separated. The oil goes in flows to the opposite side then back again.

Another question regarding this cooler...does it only flow through the channels under pressure? Very narrow. Thanks!

There is a pelet in the one side that works like a thermostate bypassing the cooler when the engine is cold.

Very nice. Could you describe that mechanically for me? I have been peeking inside the cooler (through the drain and also through the inlet hose locations) trying to learn how it works. I understand the concept but am curious as to what that should look like.

The FSM on page 2:4 figure 2-14 has a cool looking cut away of the FMOC "By-pass valve"

I've actually been wanting to test mine, but I'm not running hot or cold so I don't think its malfuntioning.
