fmoc conversion question

i'm lookin to do an fmoc conversion on my 12a in the next few weeks. i've got an fmoc from a gsl-se and i was just planning on using a filter pedestal from a 2nd gen motor. will this work? some people have said yes...others say i need a special pedestal to convert my 12a to a fmoc. any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

Just go ahead with the 2nd gen one.
The oilcooler lines will plug into the frontcover and at the base of the rear iron.

No biggie

The 2nd gen pedistal works just fine. I used one when I converted from the beehive to a 2nd gen FMOC.
Like Kim said, the oil line returns to the rear iron, towards the bottom. There is a short bolt you remove, and hook the line in there using the banjo bolt.

The pedestal area of the rear plate is the same from '74 to '88. Any '74 to '88 pedestal will work. You can even use a beehive on a '74 engine if you really wanted to.

All of the rear oil line banjo bolts are the same size. Be sure to use new washers and tighten slowly.
