Fitting Italian Weber 40 IDFs on a dual side draft manifold?
Hey all,
I have a TWM dual side-draft weber manifold, and was hoping that someone might know whether or not a pair of Italian Weber 40 IDFs would bolt to the manifold…
Manifold:
Two FB marketplace listings of webers:
One pair: https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/24219416467664300
Another pair:

Is there any chance the 45s would fit the manifold? As much as I would like to run 48s, they’re just a bit pricey and it’s hard to find two good used ones.

a 48 IDA won't fit on that manifold, IDA is a down draft. IDF is a down draft also. for that manifold you'd need a side draft carb, like a DCOE
A pair of 40 DCOEs will flow air like one 48 IDA but will have better drivability.
A pair of 45s would be a bit much, and to make them work right you'd be spending another few hundred bucks with different venturies, jets, holders, etc, whereas the 40 DCOEs should come with 32mm venturies (5:4 ratio, or 80% rule) which is a lot less fussy, and you won't really be reinventing any wheels.

Oh this is awesome, thanks! I’ll definitely try to find some side draft 40s then
