First car plz help

Hi everyone, I'm new and I need hlp. I am about to buy my first car. I found a 1985 RX-7 N/A limited edition in very good condition with 136,000 miles and nothing wrong with the car except minor ignition problem. I am tryin to see if I will be able to find performance parts and if so will it break me to make this car fast, and pretty much any more advice I could be geiven about this car in the way of modifying it. Thanx for any help that you guys could give.

well its not going to be cheap, but it is possible to fix it up without going broke. its called taking a long time. I just buy parts here and there to fix it up.

some parts you cant avoid the high price. but thats how it goes.

would it just be cheaper to do an engine swap with a newer RX-7 model or convert it to turbo myself? and if so where would I be able to get the engine?

then get a rebuild kit, teach yourself to take care of it, buy the fsm or at the least the haynes manual. How old are you if under 17, wait to turbo it, you dont need that kind of power. above 17 dont get caght, speed is addicting (edit) man I'm disjointed

If u want to beat evo's you need to know a bit more than where to buy upgrades.theres more to it than just bolting up parts.good luck

Anyone can make any car do what they want if they have enough time and money for it all. Search the forum for good advice.

finding a new engine will probably be cheaper in the long run, just make sure you dont dive in over your head, you may need to rebuild it, and if you try to do it on your own you will be dissapointed, get a manual and a rebuild kit and find a 13b out of a turbo2, this may be expensive now, but parts will be cheaper and easier to come by in most cases, the 13b was used extensively in rotary cars and is actually common compared to the 12a, however, if you have a gslse happy birthday ***** f**ker, j/k with a gslse find a turbo kit, they are fairly easy to find (13b) and are actually not that hard, but be ready to go get help if you need it, this forum is probably the best source I can give by name for doing the job by your lonesome, but maybee find a forum member in your area, most of these people are quite friendly, welcome to the forums and happy rotoring
