Just curious:

How much does something like that cost?
Are the front 2 fenders and hood about the only thing worth switching?
What kind of weight savings can you get from that?

I imagine the cost would be well above a grand to have the molds and such done for a one off situation. The weight savings would depend on the thickness of the 'glass. A race car witch needs only the semblance of fenders and such would only use thin fiberglass and would save a significant amount of weight, but a street car might not save an appreciatable amount.

BTW I am absolutely sure somone in New York state does fiberglass for hot rods and race cars. Ask about at the race shops in the area.

Hey eddierotary,
I am having the stock hood made right now! Should be ready in a couple weeks, the mold is being made now. I am taking the first fiberglass hood out of it and plan on selling carbon and fiberglass hoods.......carbon=$325ish, fiberglass=$250ish???? not sure on pricing yet.....I have not got a firm price on labor and materials but it is happening right now. No fenders yet. I am building these for my autocross car http://members.cardomain.com/7heaven

I'm am experimenting with Carbon Fibre right now. Planning to do my interior trims and center console. Hoping to work on a hood with a vent like the mazdaspeed on FD for the rad and intercooler air to come out of the hood, remember this is not a scoop, it's a reverse scoop.
