Just as the title says how many would want these???
I want to know if it would be worth the time and $$$$ to put into making these kits for the 1 gen useing the same water pump and housing as what you have on the car right now..
the price tag would be about $205.00 shipped give and take a little..

here is a link to the 2nd gen kit that I have right now
http://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/cu...cat=456&page=1

The only part I would have to make would be the water pump pulley...

if you want this to happen than please post up and I will see what I can do..
along with ANY questions you have...

Later

Very interested!! Would these be available as individual pieces? I would need 2 Alternator pulleys.

I have been thinking about getting that kit and having a water pump pullley made. I think it would be a great idea. I like TWEAKIT set they have.

You will loose the air pump with this kit and yes you can use the A\C and P\S with no problem....

You would change the alternator pulley.. so the alternator will stay in the same place..

i relocated my alt to the side of the engine. i am only using one belt between my main pulley, alt and water pump. i will be using two as soon as i get the dual alt pulley. is this bad? whats the difference between my set up and this? i dont have put a few minutes of run time on mine and no driving, so i dont know if theres a bad side or not.

this just seems like a $205 kit for nothing, unless im missing something. it seems the same thing can be achieved with just buying a longer belt. thw TWEAKIT kit mentioned by nick812 is a gilmer driver setup is designed to prevent the belt from slipping at high rpms, IIRC

maybe im missing something??

Its just like the dual belt kits available, from what Ive heard the serpentine style belts will have better traction than a V-belt, and therefore reduce belt slippage just like the other alternatives. Depending on just how much of the pulley it sees, it could even be better than a dual V-belt system.
It will also look trick.

If gilmer belts were more readily available, Id suggest that as an option (theres no way a properly installed gilmer belt would slip. period.) but I can only imagine you wouldnt be able to walk into your usual part store and order one up.

Im willing to bet that a serpentine belt would be easy to find, would eliminate the issue of finding 2 identical V-belts for the dual belt kit that so many of us have, and on top of that look sweet.
Im all for the serpentine idea, sounds like the best way to go for upgrading the belt system to me.

How about some larger diameter waterpump pulleys(130mm)
Alot of racers need them.
I cant remember how many pics of raceengines ive seen with stock diameter pulleys.

The kit needs to have the air pump as part of the kit for me to be in. The price works for me.

If the glimer drive was a little less heavy on the pockets, then more people would have them. I f i remember right i saw someone selling a kit for something like $400.

With a Gilmer belt, you also have to worry about constant street challenges, since they'll think you have roots-type supercharger under the hood...

Same here, lots of us need to stay legal.
Id pay good money, to never have to mess with re-setting my v-belt tensions.I look at serpentine setups as insurance and peace-of-mind,not so much as a performance aspect.
Also, with CA smog standards sweeping the country now, and in the near future, catering to the stock/near stock, and smog compliant crowd might be something to consider. As time goes by,there will be less and less owners capable of running bareblocks and stripped emissions.....

I think that people might be a little more interested in kit that would convert to the ribbed belt system to minimize slip. I know i would probably buy one like that .

Most serpentine setups have a tensioner pulley? Does this need one? Does the water pump pulley get enough surface contact to not slip ?

I'm using the dual v-belts right now and even they slip sometimes still. If this works better I would be up for it.

no this will not need a tensioner as that is what the Alt does and will do with this kit too..

this kit will run the same rought as the orginal V-belt ...

and for thoes that want to keep the air pump sorry this kit elemante that...
