FC vs. -SE UIMs

Will an S4 UIM bolt to the stock GSL-SE LIM? If not, what prevents it?

Not directly, bolt pattern, runners are different. I recall reading somewhere the swap is possible, but probably includes the LIM also.

Hopefully not an efi setup, but if you do go that route you can mod the S4 LIM to fit the SE block. Then you could mod a S5 UIM to fit the S4 LIM. Put it on and then hook up the VDI.

It was just a thought I had. Racing Beat's pre-'86 sidedraft LIMs are compatible with the GSL-SE LIM, and it looked like FC UIMs use a similar bolt pattern. It would be an easy way to go EFI; I'd just have to add some bungs for the primary injectors. But sounds like I'd need to either make an adapter plate or find a GSL-SE setup if I wanted to do that.

What prompted this thinking was when I realized that getting my Weber tuned probably isn't going to cost a whole lot less than a MegaSquirt by the time all is said and done.

I think he's talking about needing smaller venturis/chokes for going turbo, and finally realizing that EFI is a better setup in the end.

Percent, have you also figured out that your heavily streetported engine perhaps isn't the best for boost? I say leave it NA and build a turbo engine for the truck.

I have all those parts to play with now. Maybe we should rework the plan to take advantage of them.
