Hector, I told you it was not easy! I also told you to put it in front of an electric heater or out in the sun before you use it. I did mine in the middle of winter and it went pretty easy because of the heater. Looking good!

I'd be interested in how much it cost. I also heard of a product called ice guard (yea, it's a roofing material) that's supposed to work as well as dynamat but at like 80% less of the cost. I just replaced all the jute padding in the whole car in an effort to reduce the road noise, (it was really loud). I don't know how effective it will be yet as I haven't rebuilt the dash yet. Probably be done in June when I get back from a trip overseas.

I think you have to get it from a roofing supply place and buy in sufficient quantity to get them to make a sale. But apparently you can soundproof your car for about a hundred bucks that way as opposed to using $400 of dynamat. I think you would have to use a spray adhesive to put it down. But to be sure, I would contact the author of the below write up for adhesing the stuff.
Check out this write up.

The guy seems to know what he's doing as per this sentence " The guy for whom I did this first remarked that he wasn't sure his engine was started because he did not hear it. He was also surprised at the quietness of the cabin, and compared it to his wife's Lexus, which he said may not even have been as quiet. During driving, we noticed a "whooshing" sound, which we traced to a defective door seal. We replaced the seal, and tightened up the windows on day 3, and the car was as quiet as a tomb at highway speeds, with only the sound of his monster exhaust making it through."

I'm not sure what the Ice Guard weighs, I just tried to find the author through their forums... last post in any topic are was Oct 2004 Apparently they have an IRC channel on Efnet that is just full of ops so I'll hang around for awhile to see if they show up, maybe they know the specs on the stuff and a source of supply.

okay so i put my speakers and interior back in today...the fatmat goes from the rear to under the bins...
first impressions:
the stereo seems a bit louder...maybe because the audio is now staying inside? dunno...even with my windows down the stereo sounds fuller than before...
the muffler and drivetrain is just ever so slightly quieter...not much but there is a diff...
i'm ordering more to do the doors and the floor in the front...maybe even the roof at some point...
