rats nest

is the "rats nest" that junction type thing for connecting vaccum hoses with the 6or so different colored caps. What would be the benefit of removing it?
and yes i already looked at the FAQ

1. Yes it is.

2. Less stuff on the engine to cause problems (vacuum leaks etc.) and it really cleans the engine up nicely... I have done it, and recommend it as long as you don't have emissions testing in your area.

I just completed my removal and love it. Cleans up real nice and helps with troubleshooting.
