fans?
On our 12A's, maybe 3 or 4 HP....just a guess, Car Craft ran an article on a souped up boinger that showed a 25 HP increase with an electric fan and 10 HP increase with a mounted flex-fan...do the search engine for "Car Craft" and you'll find the thread....
It cleans up the engine bay and makes things look nicer, pluss if you get a pusher fan (mounted on the outside of the radiator ((meaning the side open to air and not in the engine bay)) you can cool the engine alot more efficiently... and we all know that a cool rotary engine is a nice thing to have.

2) you don't have to buy a $60 dual belt alt. pulley if you remove the smog pump
3) more control over engine temp
4) it's cheap
5) it frees HP

You can also run the electric water pump with the engine off to cool it between track runs or should you have a coolant leak in the middle of nowhere and must get somewhere.
Probably about that. Your fan clutch is stuck too??? Sounds like a friggin jet engine doesn't it? I can't wait till I get an electric fan for my rex. Extra HP, more contol, better sound, and a cleaner engine compartment. Worthwhile investment if you ask me.
My fan spins so fast at cruising (3-4000 depending on mph) that the corners of the hood raise up to vent the air. Plus its loud as hell and its killing horsepower and engine response.
