fan shrout for a Efan
i have a puller Efan in my car but i want to get my engine more cooler and i was planning to put a shrout on the rad and in top of that put the efan on it, my question isdoes improve cooling or not? thanks
I stuck a 16" E fan on a stock 16" fan shroud. It had full coverage of the radiator and even some coverage of the oil cooler. It made more sense to do it this way, yet I've never seen anyone else do it.
how did you attatch the fan to the stock shroud, i was considering doing this as well because the torus stock shroud is very restrictive, especially at hight speeds. The e-fan is 16 inches aswell,. and i'm wondering how you filled in the gap?
gut the t-stat and just leave the casing. t-stat less is good but a little restriction is better especially on a stop and go traffic. the restriction will allow the coolant to absorb more heat than no t-stat.
Eddierotary is in New York!!
I thinkg gutting the thermostat is a bad idea.
It also take longer to bring your engine up to temp when it is cold. not really good for your engine and i doubt that it imporves cooling much anyway.

i was thinking to take a sheet of aluminum, cut it the same size of the rad, cut the hole for the fan to breath and bolt the fan in the sheet of aluminum and then bolt it on the stock locations of the stock shrout
