Some basterds broke into my bady last night and got all my ****. Took my stereo, speakers, and tore the **** out of my door lock and the sheet metal around it.

Filed the police report, and we figured out abound $900 for the stuff taken and between $350 and $500 worth of damage to the door.

Tore the **** out of my dash to get the deck out.

Well Mantis, looks like im gonna have to buy one of your radio surounds afterall.

Damn, Damn, Damn.

Hey any mercinaries on the site that wants to find these guys for me??

Better than the 2002 Camry I did a theft estimate on today. Me and the Toyota dealer came up with about 1500 dollars damage to the dash top, the stereo surround, about 250 to the body shop to replace the drivers side window, and buff out all the scratches and thats not including the damage to the leather seat from where the thief ground the broken glass into the new leather seats. After we get past that 2500 or so dollars , if he gets a brand new seat, when can then estimate the DVD player indash (lil over $2000), 2 amps and a sub box I remember vividly telling him when he was looking at stuff before we installed it, he needed to get an alarm and a pager with the purchse, he just said nah maybe later... Guess what hes buying when we replace the stolen goods?

Yea I had my backpack sitting on my passenger seat the other day. I got out of the car and grabed the bag and the bag hooked on the center armrest thing. And ripped it off!!! so now its only attached when you close it and click it shut. And I opened my storage bin the other day and the hing part broke and the lid fell off... Stupid interior plastic lol. Nothing compared to what happend to you though. That really sucks man! I think people who mess with other peoples stuff are pretty low. Sorry hope they get caught!

Do you suspect anyone? Unless your stuff was easily seen from the street, it was probably someone you know, maybe worked with? Keep your ear to the street and if your lucky, you will hear of your stuff for sale. I had this happen about 6 yrs ago, turned out to be some low life loser that knew what i had if my car. I happened to meet this one guy at a local stereo shop, and we were talking about stereos and i told him about one that had been stolen out of my car. This guy says, I know of a guy that is selling that exact same stereo and amp, and before he had a chance to say the guys name, I said is his name steve? He says, yeah, how did you know? I said thanks, left the store and hunted the little ****** down and scared the livin' **** out of him. Needless to say he ended up paying for all my equipment.

Yeah the funny thing about car stereo theft, is its ALMOST ALWAYS someone that knows you or knows of you.. And the scarey part it is usually a friend of yours or a friend of your friend and someone that knows exactly what you have , where it is, and knows the routine and schedule you have... The best places to steal a stereo are either 1) at the movies , 2) at school or 3) at nite in front of your house... They know exactly what you are doing, and how long your gonna be gone...

Also another interesting stat is that almost all car audio breakin's are done from the drivers side... I dont get it, if I was gonna break in, id do it on the passenger side, so I didnt have to fight the steering wheel... But at any rate , do you have the serial numbers that were on the equipment, if you do turn them into the cops, that rules out anyone ever pawning them... The NCI computer will pick that up, super fast Good luck..

No my car was parked in front of my apartment well off the street.

I think it is just people scouting the area and steeling ****. The night that my G/f's car was screwed with We were woken up at 2:30 Am with a car alarm accross the street going off. and last night I heard another car alarm go off a few bolcks away at around 4:00. so I think its random ******* going around steeling ****.

Also the break in was from the passanger side. pretty sanitary breakin job. kinnda wham bam thank you sucker....

yea the equipment was a Pioneer DEHP6300 and a pair of JL 6x9's in boxes. unfortionatly I only have the serial numbers for the deck.

Oh well, cut your loses on the speakers and report the stereo to the police. That way it can't be sold at a pawn shop like mike-p28 said. Don't those stereos have a feature that requires a cd or something to be able to use the stereo again once it's disconnected from 12 volts? i would go around to the local stereo shops and leave your a copy of your serial # in the case that does happen.

sorry to hear about ur car, thats just harsh, and its even worse when they go and brake things..

the first thing i thought of when doing my rebuild was the car's safety.. i spent a few days installing an alarm and did it all properly, ive seen too many alram installations done by many places e.g autobarn that are just shocking.. a friends alarm instalation was just hanging by the wires at the back of his dash and he was asking me why his shock sensor wasnt working? go figure

also just as important, change ur door locks! im no car thief and never have been but i could open and my door and START the engine using something simple like a kitchen fork (not going to tell u how to do it, and it works on most cars made b4 the early 80's) and it doesnt damage anything like a screwdriver would..
so i put some carshow locks on like the solex's (the round secrity ones)

can never be too safe with your cars....

Yea im deffinetly going to have to replace the door locks, unless there is a way to get a new lock that uses the same key.
