which engine with a supercharger.

I recently had a post on running a intercooler with one of atkins 7in supercharger.

Now I was thinking. should I just stick with my 12a (which ill be streetporting) or should I swap in a turbo2 13b into it,

would I make more power with the 12a or the 13b.

12 a streetport with 9.4 rotors vs. 13b stockport with 8.5 rotors.

The other thing i was thinking is that I could more boost with the 12a vs 13b because of the size of the blower vs the engine displacement.

what do ya think.

This is an odd question where do you want more power? top end go with a turbo. Bottom end go with supercharger. as for more power i could not tell you. I have drove a turbo2 and a supercharged 12 with an eaton for a short distance to me the the charger felt stronger but that could of been cause it was in the first gen and i built it. But if your going through the atkins for the camden i have heard bad things on those kits that is why am doing it myself. so i will wait to get flamed by others and here what they have to say.

I don't know which engine. But I think that the 12A vs 13B is a non-issue as far as the Camden 7 inch, because I think they offer pullies that'll boost a 13B pretty damn high!
It certainly would be an issue with the five inch blower.

I may be mistaken, but I think the general concensous is that the 12A can take more abuse.

the T2 block is a better place to start, since it has reinforcement around the dowel pins and would be less likely to crack the rear housing under detonation.

the 12a is stronger than a turbo II 13b, that doesnt make a lot of sence to me.

I would love to go turbo but it is to much money and other stuff.
Ie front mount intercooler, whole new exhaust, fuel injection, transmission, blah blah

so no one give me the GO TURBO bull,

I love the huge power of turbos but I drive alot in stop and go and I also do alot of autox and road racing stuff, plus its not peak power thats important, its area under the curve.
a supercharger will give me what I want,.

Im thinking that a 13b will be more reliable (plus sound better) then a 12a.

But if power wont be that much better I wont bother.

i was quoting sterling not peejay.

I beleive the turbo2 is a stonger block, otherwise, why wouldnt the turbo 2 have a 12a?

it's not stronger because it's a 13B, it's stronger because it's a T2

If you run a Supercharger without an intercooler, you will get heat soak and lose performance by the minute, and increase chances of detonation.

Whichever way you go - RUN AN INTERCOOLER.
