elford turbo
I have a '84 elford turbo which seems to have had its Micro Dynamics ignition disconnected.I notice it says on the black box only to connect to red coil. There is no red coil.Does anyone know where I can obtain any info on this?

Well there aren't that many Elfords left. And for sure not in the USa, where most members of the 1st gen forum live. You could try here: http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com and go to their forums. I guess you might find more info in the UK...
There's a member on the euro-forum who has an Elford turbo, you can try contacting him.

Umm, elfords never came with anything from microdynamics on them. This was fitted later for some reason or other (rev limit, shift light?).
As stock the elford just used the standard dizzy.

Cheers BIll,thats a relief. How much do you know about the Elford? The car seems to run fine if running very rich, about 8% CO,which smells of fumes in the car when stationary!!
Also would you happen to know where I could obtain a original/pattern Elford front air dam?

I have one in pieces in my garage.
the packaging is very nice, but not a 'performance' design.
Your idle richness is more than likely SU sticky piston/duff diaphragm syndrome. Find one of the 3 people left who know about SUs and get it overhauled.

Off the top of my head no. Let me ask around. IN the meantime www.gowerandlee.co.uk might be able to help you.
