Do you have a digital multi-meter*? Messure the voltage the alternator is putting out. Thats the first thing I would do.

Also, check your fuseable links. They can and do go bad.

*I say digital, but you can use an analog meter.

Everything needs to be in good shape in these cars electrically speaking.

IGN switch, grounds, battery cables, etc everything. Each bit of voltage drop makes it harder and harder for things to function properly.

AS stated above, first thing to do is run the engine and check that the alternator is putting out 13+ volts. Check battery connections and cable leads for tightness and cleanliness. Then go to fusible links, etc.

Thanks for the advice everybody I took my multimeter tested everything and found a spastic reading from the starter, then tried starting the car via the starter only, and found out that the solenoid is burnt out so i ordered a new starter. I also failed to mention that my starter has had problems grabbing on every turn of the key, some people say its the flywheel but i think the last starter i bought from a speed shop in newyork was already shitty.

Best thing I did was upgrade to the FC gear reduction starter. Car starts so much nicer in every aspect now. You just have to get 1 nut and 1 bolt long enough to mount it as the FC starter doesn't have a threaded hole. Super easy.

I went too rockauto.com it was a wide selection of parts for 1st gen, the shipping is fairly priced and they ship 2-3 days very trust worthy!
