Get some Amsoil Powerfoam. It's only 4 bucks a can, and it's made to burn WITHOUT CAUSING ANY INTERNAL DAMAGE, and it doesn't clog cats. I've used it, works well.

is my decarbonizing article still around?

It does need an update to include Wankelguy's info, but read both this thread AND the article before anyone does anything silly.

This thread is like a year old! I've since written an article with most of this info in it

unseizing a seized engine

Only Product on the market specifically formulated to un-seize pistons is called Engine Release. It's good for engines that seized up in storage
Comes with good instructions and interesting tips on how to get your engine running.

It's guaranteed too

I used atf to build compresson when my 13b wouldn't start, I changed the plugs, used a funnel to pour atf in each top plug till full, put in the plugs and fire'd up right away, works great since.

So I damaged my engine by using atf?

Probably not. Be safe and use oil next time.

Jeff20B and Vipernicus42 are telling it straight. If you need to add anything to get it started there is something else wrong, worn out rotor seals more than likely. Or housings missing most of their chrome.

On the carb models, sometimes all it takes is one small mistake when trying to start up and you will flood it.

I have found that Seafoam works great for starting flooded engines. No need to remove and clean spark plugs after starting like you have to do with ATF. Just an ounce or so will make a flooded rotary start right up...

Same thing with oil - no need to clean the spark plugs when you're done. That ATF crap will never see the inside of any of my engines.
