Damn! It makes good hp all the way up to 8500.

wow.......wow....now i know why i wasn't allowed to put even my first motor together without those. my dad taught me how to put one of these together about three years ago, it was a stock motor that still had everything i still do to the motors i build minus the seals, lol so there are a couple of stock first gens with hardened gears in them!

Looks more like almost nine to me, but either way it's still screaming for me to put a weber on it. If only my integra was running.... how could a daily driver take so long to get running....... oh yeah, waiting on 11:1 compression pistons so it's a little more fun, even though it will never compare to my FB!

don't worry i'll beat that number as soon as i get my a/f ratio a little higher in the top end. I'm curious as what you have for ignition though. Your Torque is a little lower than I thought it would be. This i mine, as you can tell though, mine to have an alot smoother torque and hp curve.

I was thinking the same thing, my stock port 12a got about the same torque as your motor, but maybe it's the streetport that is doing that? Here is the graph of my dyno last year, it's probably a bit higher now, and i'm still waiting for a sterling carb and intake manifold before my next dyno pull...

I had my dyno here - https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/dynoed-my-12a-today-479267/

Dj55b- My ignition is all stock except for the coils which are blaster 2's. if you look at my a/f ratio it doesn't move around as much as yours and sits at a very safe level. I could probably get some more power out of it if i wasn't running near stock timing, 87 octane (the reason for the conservative timing and a/f ratio) or so rich. my motor has no torque due in large part to the very healthily breathing intake (manifold, carb, everything) and exhaust (3" piping w/ no cats, resonators, and one straight-through muffler). If you beat me congrats, i'm not going for any prizes.

Zyrano- i think it may have something to do with it, as you see from my sheet compared to yours you will see that my max torque is almost 1000 rpm higher than yours, and you had stock ports. Maybe your setup is a lot better than mine torque-wise but i never really did any of this stuff with torque at the top of the list, it pulls good where i want it to in my opinion and after i put the weber on it and get some msd boxes it will be better everywhere i think, in regards to both torque and horsepower.

There is a lot of power hidden in the ignition system.... Even a 2nd gen directfire setup would have a big impact for you, especially up at the high rpms I bet. Nice numbers btw...

Your torque curve looks a little lame and falls off to quickly, might be the porting. Hp #s look very good though.

Kentetsu- Yeah i'm going to be putting MSD 6AL boxes on the car when i finally save up the money and dont spend it on spupid things like bills and such lol. I actually am getting three 6AL boxes along with a blaster ss coil, msd distributor cap for my integra, and some taylor 8mm wires for my rx7 at once. The reason for me getting all this at once is that i'm paying like $300 for all of it! I can't wait till the race season is over as these are all spares for a guy that races and he likes to keep brand-new-still-in-the-plastic-and-everything kind of spares.

I'm very surprised to hear that you're actually running stock timing, when we dynoed it with my car i lost about 15whp, so i'm running about 12 degrees or so now.

As far as ignition goes, i think that I really should try a set of those Blaster2 Coils. Cause mine was dropping at around 7,5k from timing. Do you still have your vacumm advance hooked up by anychance?

And About hte beating you ... i was just making more challenging for you lol

A cheap and effective ignition is the 2GCDFIS, it is noticably smoother and free revving. Nice numbers man and I love your attitude, I also believe in driving these little cars at 10/10ths and I'm not 18.....I appreciate that you understand your engine and are building what you want to drive, keep it up.

The dark side owns another......(insert evail laugh here)

dj55b- no, i unhooked the vacuum advance just to simplify things. As for the challenge idea, we're on bro! I want to go back to the dyno to mess with the timing so i get it set up perfectly for my car, as far as i'm conserned there is only one way to do that and it's with hard data that i can see. I had the timing advanced before according to one of these books i had (i think it was a racingbeat book) but i brought it back down when i destroyed a set of spark plugs due to detonation. The tips were melted to the point that they were touching the electrode and/or the porcelin and the porcelin was cracked in a bunch of places. Now i have a holley blue fuel pump w/ FPR and i still haven't advanced the timing back to where it was. the stock pump lost fuel pressure above 6k for my setup and couldn't supply the fuel needed. now that that is fixed i'm going back on the dyno once i get more money.

Aussiesmg- i would be doing 2nd gen ignition if i wasn't getting all these ignition pieces for such a good deal. And as far as how to drive the car, is there really any other way!? lol i think not!

ya for me with timing, if anyone messes it up I can get it back to where it was by sound now. At stock timing, my engine doesn't idle as smooth with as with the pre advance set.
