Do these floats look alright?



One of them was kinda brown colored for some reason. This is a photo I took as I took apart the carb in my '83 GSL.

That's gum and/or varnish. Gumout carb spray can clean the floats. Or a good quality brake cleaner spray.

Thanks Jeff. The car has definitely sat for many months of not years at a time.

Best way to check the floats (once they are clean) is to put them in a glass or metal container of gasoline deep enough that they can float, see if they float at about the same depth after a couple hours. Outdoors is best.
