sometimes if its not in there to tight you can drill a small hole in the center, reverse the drill with the drill bit still in the bolt and it will unthread its self. or try an easy out.

tapping would be drilling the old bolt out and making new threads. an easy out you can buy at the hardware store and bites into the old bolt, via a hole you drill, and unthreads the bolt.

heli-coils don't suck, sometimes they are a bugger to get in and not want to skip a thread. but all in all the threads are going to be much stronger than the origionals.

GOT IT! I just yanked the distributer out and the a/c belt and had enough room to get a small vicegrip in there just grip it out. Unfortunately I ended up having the timing all screwed up so.. I had to pull the distributer out again, line the pully point up with the yellow dot, make sure the rotor was aligned with the T-Line and gently slide the gear back in. Im still have some problems as the retard/advance has to be at one of the veeery ends to get the engine as smooth as possible. (did everything by the book and still having problems) anyone have an illustrated guide for 12a timing / distributer replacement. (WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL)
