distributor guts

how the hell do you get the guts of the distributor out? i took the cap and rotor off, the little tin cover thing, all the screws on the inside, and dash pots. I took the gear off the bottom and the thing inside that has a roll pin pushed in it that goes under the rotor. the stuff wont come out. what am i doing wrong?

Sorry man, I have 3 distributors to get it right. I can do it, I just don't know why the inside won't come out. I appreciate the offer though. If everything goes right I'll have a mostly complete 85 to part out by next weekend, including a running 12a.

punch roll pin out of the bottom and remove gear, remove both vac advance diaphragms and you're home free.

There are a couple of screws on the bottom of the dizzy that attach it to the block. Remove them (10mm socket/wrench IIRC) then tap it with a small ball-pien hammer. It should come out.
