Curb Weight '79 7

Alright,

I have seen the 79-80 RX7 listed at a curb (dry) weight of 2200. Elsewhere Ive seen it at 2450. Does anyone know the stock 79-80 weight? Driving me crazy.

Thoise weights probably vary depending in whether it had A/C, 4spd trans or 5spd trans or A/T trans.

I think my registration says 2400, but I'll have to check for sure.

How can I get it on a truck scale? Do they just let you up on one?

Sorry, to get on a truck scale, the truck needs to be weighed 1st, then the car loaded on the truck and reweighed. FBs aren't allowed on scales.

If you believe that, I have some swampland for sale.

Weighing in

My fellow RX 7 racer and I went to a moving company. I don't remember what they charged, but it wasn't much. My 79 (very stripped out) was 1963 lbs. His 82 gsl was a bit lighter. Call ahead to make sure it is available.

I don't know about you guys but the local dumps(disposal sites) weigh the trucks that go in and out. Why not just go to one of those if you have them in your area.

I don't know about Chicago, but when I type in
"san mateo, ca truck scale" in google all kinds of places come up.

The few that I know about around here are 24x7 outside with nobody watching
them. You can just drive up and look at the scale and not pay anything.

I wouldn't trust this for a second if they can't get the conversion right. 1080kg is not lighter in pounds than 1065kg.

...and I'm not sure what I'm doing in the 1st gen forum. thank you.
