Cross Parts Reference for first gen 7s
Greetings,
I'd like to be able to cross reference all the first gens and figure what is interchangable through the years. For example, I have a 85' RX-7 S and I'd like to know if a 82' RX-7 GSL rear, fender and bumper will fit.
The reason being for all this is because I took a trip to the local salvage yard today and loved it, execpt I don't have a truck to put it all in(yet)
Anyone know where I can find the parts bible on first gen RX-7s?
Thanks,
Jason

This is a great source of info, and probably a great place for you to start.
However, alot of the parts interchange info is gonna apply to internal stuff. The fenders are only different because of the front bumpers. I believe it's 79 & 80 that are different than 81-85.
Get a second opinion.

The rear end will be a direct boltin, but you will have to remove the pinion flange from the 85 and swap it onto the 82 rear, so that the driveshaft fits... Also remember to ask for brake parts and bearings for an 82 when you need them for the rear also since you will have disc brakes, be sure to get the e brake cable, and master cyclinder and proportioning valve
